My Approach

I work from a humanistic-integrative perspective in which, depending on the needs of the client, I draw on a number of complementary approaches, including:

 

  • Psychodynamic
  • Existential
  • Gestalt
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

When we approach a subject that’s difficult to articulate, I may utilises alternative treatment modalities to aid you in expressing yourself or to provide more clarity on the emotions the session is eliciting, including:

 

  • Body Scans
  • Relaxation exercises
  • Mindfulness
  • Art Therapy

Body scans and relaxation exercises can help you to connect with your body, which I believe is essential in cases of trauma or, potentially, with other issues like anxiety or depression. I also find that art therapy can greatly help you to develop a deeper level of expression when sometimes words fail to convey the depth of feeling arising from a situation.
